Voices of the unseen : Meeting an unhoused friend.

I offer more than just a hot meal, cold drink and hygiene. I take time to connect, understand, and deliver just a tad more to help the individuals who want to help themselves. This segment is learning about the people we feed and take care of weekly.

Hope On a Budget - Supporting Individuals

Support Candace on Her recovery Journey

if you guys are keeping up with us on YouTube, you’d know we have met a beautiful unhoused friend named Candace.

Candace is a brave woman, during our Wednesday route, we came across her for about two months caring for those in need.

She’s eager to ditch homelessness for good.

Candace stated to me that she was ready to get clean and change her life. She’s never had support like she’s received from us.

Candace is an artist and so very talented, we will be posting her artwork on the site so you’re able to support her and her recovery journey.

I didn’t know how I was going to make it happen but I did!

We were blessed to get a motel six room for the night for Candace with an order of meatloaf, mashed potatoes, steamed vegetables, and the chocolate milkshake per her request!

The next morning, we got Candace in a detox facility, Fort Lauderdale behavioral and health center. After trial and error, which you can check out our YouTube live. She gets discharged Tuesday, October 28th, 1st step behavioral has accepted Candace and offered her a bed for rehab rehabilitation up to 60 days!

After exhausting many options, even with insurance, the cost of getting clean and sober is outrageous. I understand why it’s so difficult for people to get help because a HUGE price tag is attached to getting help.

We want to help Candace change her life and we’ll need your help doing it.

We found this amazing organization in Fort Lauderdale Florida called Just For Today!

I was able to speak with the owner, about Candace and recovery. She owns the halfway house that can house over 95 women!

After Candace is completed with a rehab, she will be going to the halfway house.

Candace deserves a real chance to be in different surroundings, work her steps and be the woman she so desperately wants to be.

Sometimes all we need is a little love and support to grow.

I see us helping Candace & promoting her self recovery process.

The amount we are requesting will be for her housing, food, & personal hygiene products.

Hope on a budget is hoping to cover her first 30 days to have some self care and self reflection, after 30 days, Candace will need to get a job.

Housing: $100 (non-refundable deposit) $230 a week totaling, $980 per month.

    •    Candace must find a job within 30 days to start paying half of the cost of housing.

Food: $60-$100 weekly, totaling $240-$400.

    •    Candace and I will be applying for foodstamps & proper insurance.

Hygiene & Personal care: You can donate directly to Hope On a budget Amazon wishlist or donate whatever you’d like financially.

    •    Body wash, shampoo, conditioner, deodorant, lotion, razors, bras, underwear, shoes, blow dryer straightener.

in almost 2 years, Candace is the first person to fully commit to wanting to help and change her life! We are forever grateful to be a part of this and hope you guys learn, appreciate and understand her journey!
